Magda Bouwman
Magda is an experienced and qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC. She has previously worked in the NHS in adult and children and young people services. Adult experience involved inpatient and outpatient settings, including neurodevelopmental challenges, learning disabilities and mental health issues such as psychosis, trauma, anxiety and depression. Magda also enjoyed working in neurodevelopmental clinics in CAMHS in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, where she performed assessments and therapeutic work. She has also worked for Priory and Oxford ADHD centre.
Over the past few years, Magda has increasingly specialised in doing neurodevelopmental assessments, including ADHD and Autism. Cognitive assessments often form a part of these assessments as they serve as a guide to identify areas of academic challenges. She also enjoys doing therapy with young people, and adults. She has a very flexible approach and adjusts to what is needed by a client, whether a more structured or indirect approach. It has always been important to her to not only work on presenting problems, but also to explore what lies underneath.
Magda is very passionate about her role as psychologist and in making a difference in people’s lives.
Magda has lived in the Netherlands and South Africa in the past, and has been in the UK for the past 10 years. She also has a daughter who lives in the UK. Other passions are yoga, nature and animals.
